Tonight, at work, I was about to bring salt and pepper to a table of three guests. They had just ordered a second round of drinks and had received their food. However, when I reached their table and was about to deliver the salt and pepper shakers they reached for each other's hands, and started praying, or saying grace, or something. I felt awkward, so I turned away and waited for a few seconds. When I thought they were finished I put the shakers on the table and walked away.
I don't recall ever seeing people praying in a restaurant, or saying grace in a restaurant, before the food is eaten. It was strange to me.
